You can listen to Barry’s interview on The Tank Spencer Show at WWNC in Asheville, NC. He talks about his work over the past 15 years on the prevention of youth and family violence. The hour-long interview was played on all six of the Asheville radio stations owned by Clear Channel Radio.
In this interview, Barry talks about how he developed CICRCL-sponsored youth and family violence prevention programs in a number of U. S. communities and schools. These programs include the Kindness Campaign, a community-based violence prevention program, implemented in over 13 U. S. cities and the Kind and Safe Schools Initiative, a school-based violence prevention program that has been implemented in over 700 schools.
Barry also discusses the unique strategies in his approach that emphasizes mobilize people to do the opposite of violence–or acts of kindness. He also cites some of the research results that show how effective this approach can be in preventing youth and family violence.
